Dr Sarah Walsh, Consultant Dermatologist
Dr Sarah Walsh, MB BCh BAO BMedSci MRCP, is a Consultant Dermatologist, working both at Dermatology Consulting in Tunbridge Wells, and also at King’s College Hospital in London, where she is head of department. Originally from Ireland, she graduated first place in class with first class honours from University College Cork, before pursuing post-graduate training in Edinburgh and Glasgow. She entered the Specialist Register upon completion of dermatology training in 2010.
Dr Walsh completed a one year clinical fellowship in severe drug reactions and acute medical dermatology at King’s in 2010/2011, before taking up a substantive Consultant role in the department.
Dr Walsh has a number of clinical and academic interests. She has expertise in adverse reactions to medications arising in the skin, and is a contributing member of ToxiTEN, the European research group for severe drug reactions. She runs the Biologics Clinic at King’s, prescribing third-line immunological therapies for severe inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema and hidradenitis suppurativa. She is also the dermatologist for the national Sarcoidosis specialist service, run from King’s College Hospital. Dr Walsh has a clinical interest in female genital skin concerns, and runs the specialist service for vulval dermatoses at King’s.
Dr Walsh is actively involved in research, and has more than 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals. She is the author of several book chapters in prestigious reference texts such as the Rook Textbook of Dermatology, the Oxford Textbook of Medicine, and Pharmacy and Therapeutics. She served as Section Editor of the British Journal of Dermatology from 2011 – 2018. She is a frequent invited speaker at national and international meetings on severe drug reactions, sarcoidosis and acute medical dermatology.
Dr Walsh is committed to teaching and training the next generation of dermatologists and dermatology nurses. In recent years, she has collaborated with art educationalists to develop a European visual literacy training programme for dermatologists. This is a novel training method for doctors using fine art to hone observational and descriptive skills, originally pioneered at Yale Medical School in the US. In her free time, Dr Walsh is a keen tennis player and skier, and she enjoys art history and the French language.
Dr Marie-Louise Daly, Consultant Dermatologist
Dr Marie-Louise Daly studied medicine at Cambridge University and, following this, completed a higher MPhil research degree, also at Cambridge University. She completed her postgraduate training at many teaching hospitals including Addenbrooke’s, King’s College, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals. During her specialist dermatology training she won the prestigious St. John’s Society Registrar prize and was a co-investigator in clinical research trials at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ hospital.
Dr Marie-Louise Daly now holds an NHS Consultant post at the Lewisham and Greenwich Trust where she is the clinical lead for dermatology and head of teaching for undergraduate medical students. She also jointly runs the department’s biologic clinic for treatment of severe psoriasis.
She has published a number of original works in prestigious dermatology research journals and has recently published a Dermatology handbook for trainee doctors and GPs.
She currently consults on all aspects of skin disease in both adults and children including acne, eczema, allergy, psoriasis, moles and skin cancer.
Dr Sophia Paget, Consultant Dermatologist
Dr Sophia Paget MBBS, BSc(Hons), MRCP (Dermatology) qualified from Imperial College Medical School. She also undertook an additional BSc in Immunity and Infection for which was awarded a First Class Honours degree.
She did her general medical training at Charing Cross Hospital and Bristol and then did her higher dermatology training at Imperial College, Chelsea and Westminster, Barts and St Mary’s Hospitals in London.
She is currently a consultant dermatologist at Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust and has a particular interest in general medical dermatology, skin cancer and paediatric dermatology. She is currently involved in training dermatology trainees and medical students from St George’s medical school. She is the research lead for her dermatology department and oversees and delivers NIHR registered dermatology clinical trials and contributes to the South West London clinical research network.
She is an active member of the British association of Dermatologists, St John’s Institute of Dermatology, Royal Society of Medicine and the British Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Dermatology.
Dr Jonathan Batchelor, Consultant Dermatologist
Dr Jonathan Batchelor BMedSci, BM BS, FRCP is a Consultant Dermatologist at Beckenham Beacon, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and is Clinical Lead and Skin Cancer Lead for the department at Beckenham.
Dr Batchelor grew up in Sevenoaks and attended The Judd School in Tonbridge. He graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 2000. Between 2001 and 2003 he was a recipient of the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation Scholarship and lived in Tokyo where he undertook a period of Japanese language study and passed National Language Proficiency Test at level 1 (Advanced). He then undertook research work at the National Centre for Child Health and Development and a clinical attachment in the Department of Dermatology at Showa University.
After returning to the UK, Dr Batchelor undertook postgraduate clinical work in the Emergency Department at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust followed by the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He undertook his dermatology specialty training at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and was one of the inaugural UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network Trainee Fellows from 2008 to 2010. He was appointed Consultant Dermatologist at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (2010-14) and at Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (2014-18) and has been Consultant Dermatologist at Beckenham Beacon since 2018.
From 2010 to 2022, Dr Batchelor was Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham’s Centre of Evidence-based Dermatology. His published research work has centred on trials for vitiligo and eczema, including working as joint Chief Investigator for the HI-Light Vitiligo Trial. He has over 70 publications in peer-reviewed journals, including the British Journal of Dermatology and the British Medical Journal (BMJ). He was Clinical Trials Section Editor of the British Journal of Dermatology from 2010 to 2020. Since 2014 he has been a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and he is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists and the British Society for Dermatological Surgery.
Dr Batchelor treats patients (aged 16 and above) with all skin conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis and other rashes, moles, skin cancer and other skin lesions.
In his free time, Dr Batchelor enjoys cooking, wine, all kinds of music, stand-up comedy (watching, not performing) and Japanese language and culture.
Miss Jennifer O’Neill, Plastic Surgeon

Miss Jennifer O’Neill is a plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon. Being a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Plast), she is on the GMC’s Specialist Register for plastic surgery and is a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS).
Miss O’Neill graduated from Cambridge University (Queens’ College) with a first class degree and then completed clinical medical training at Oxford University (New College) in 2000.
Initial surgical training was completed in London, Brighton, Exeter and East Grinstead. Miss O’Neill then visited Melbourne to perform research and earn a Master of Medicine (MMed) on the subject of the lymphatic system before taking up a further surgical training post on the South-West plastic surgery training programme in Bristol and Exeter.
Miss O’Neill’s fellowships were hand surgery in East Grinstead and a microsurgery fellowship performing free tissue transfer to the lower limb in Bristol. She also completed an interface fellowship in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery (Training Interface Group) in Guildford in addition to the Bristol aesthetic fellowship.
Miss O’Neill was awarded both the British and the European hand diplomas following the hand fellowship at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead.
After becoming a Consultant in 2015, Miss O’Neill worked at Wexham Park Hospital treating hand injuries and skin cancer before becoming a permanent Plastic Surgery Consultant at Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead in 2017.
Miss O’Neill is currently Surgical Tutor for plastic surgery at Queen Victoria Hospital and is part of the simulation teaching faculty. She has postgraduate qualifications in healthcare leadership and medical education.
Mr Asit Khandwala, Plastic Surgeon
Mr Khandwala, MBBS MS MCh FRCS (G) and FRCS (Plast), began in Plastic Surgery in 1989, training in both the UK and India, undertaking Plastic Surgery training at the St James University Hospital in Leeds, Charing Cross, Chelsea and Westminster, St Andrew’s Centre for Plastic Surgery in Chelmsford and Queen Mary’s, Roehampton. He also trained at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital. He completed his specialist training and was appointed a Consultant at the Queen Victoria Hospital in 2004.
Mr Khandwala is a fully accredited specialist in Plastic Surgery, and he is on the Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery with the General Medical Council.
He is a full member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, the International Society of Plastic Surgery, and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand.
Mr Nick Parkhouse, Plastic Surgeon
Mr Nick Parkhouse trained at Oriel College, Oxford and the Middlesex Hospital and carried out research into wound healing for which he was awarded a Hunterian Professorship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1990.
Mr Parkhouse has been a Consultant Plastic Surgeon since 1991. He is based at The McIndoe Centre at East Grinstead and is also a Consultant at King Edward VII Hospital, Sister Agnes, in London. He has held NHS Consultants posts at both the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead and at Mount Vernon.
He is a Member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), the European Association of Plastic Surgeons (EURAPS) and the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS).
He has a special interest in the aesthetic/cosmetic surgery of the face, breasts, abdomen and arms. He also has a special interest in the optimisation of scarring and treatment of scarring disfigurement, and the treatment of moles and skin cancer.
